Let's Learn About Ads!

Please do not link to, copy or reproduce any material on this site.

Ads are one of the main knowledge roles at FanBox and they help promote blog posts as well as products and services offered by members and merchants.

The magic starts for creating ads at the blue Promote Tab. All types of ads whether for yourself or other FanBox members are created from here.
You can either choose to create ads or manage your existing ads.

You can also create ads from the Green start tab where the Genie is by choosing, "Other Knowledge Roles".
If you use the Genie, the minimum number of ads you can create is 1.
It works by showing you random posts that need promoting and you chose to create an ad for that post or not.

The most successful ads follow the simple, A.I.D.A. formula, it is considered the best way to do Ads on FanBox.
Accurate:Does the Ad’s title, image, body and tags accurately depict what the post is primarily about?
Interest:Does the Ad body get them even more interested in reading the blog post?
Desire:Does the Ad create enough desire to motivate the viewer to click?
Action:After they click and read the blog post, is the viewer satisfied with their action? Did the post deliver what the Ad promised?

Doing Ads correctly will lead to better earnings and more success on FanBox.  Doing ads incorrectly can lead to a lot of frustration for your efforts.
Fortunately, it's really easy to learn to do great ads.

What's the purpose of doing Ads?Simple! Your ad is what you create to entice someone to click on your blog post, product or service.
It's a great idea to give your potential reader a good idea of what awaits them when they click your ad.

First, let's understand how to create a really good ad.
Remember you want your ad to stand out so it gets noticed and clicked. Take a little time to create a good ad and you'll far better results than someone who just put up 10 ads in a row that are low quality with spelling errors, an image that doesn't match the content and text that means nothing to the reader of the ad. That text box on your ad is your chance to connect with a potential reader or product/services buyer in 135 characters or less, think about goes there!

Creating Ads
  • Your Ad's title may not be all caps.
Example : A POST ABOUT BEARS  would be corrected to A Post About Bears
Note: the first letter of each word is capitalized, this is called "title case".
  • When creating Ads, the title should be title case (title case means the first letter of each word is capitalized).
all lower case is not title case.
  • Ad titles should never be created in all capital letters
  • All Ads should have an image/ad icon.
  • Your Ad image should be relevant to the post you are advertising.
  • Your Ad Image (sometimes called your Ad Icon) is the image used in the Ad for promotion of your post, make sure it's relevant to the post you are advertising.
  • If you need an image, there is a handy link to Google Images.
  • Your Ad body text should be relevant to the post you're advertising.
  • Your Ad body text should give people an idea of what they will find at the post when they click your ad.
  • Your Ad body text should be written in proper sentence form.
  • Ad text should never be typed in all capital letters.
  • You have 135 characters in the Ad Text box to use to describe the post your advertising.
  • Your Ad will be shown to FanBox members based on the Search Terms (tags) you choose.
  • Choosing popular Search Terms (tags) for your Ads means you will pay more per click but there may also be a better chance of getting clicks.
  • The search terms determine who sees your FanBox Ad based on the who is interested in topics that relate to those search terms, they should always relate to your post.
  • Your Ad text should entice people to click to read the post that's being advertised.
  • It is never okay to use non-conventionally terms in Ads. Words like "Gunna" or "4get" in your Ads will not be approved.
  • Campaign length refers to the time duration you set your Ad to be active.

  • Need an Example?
Let's say you have published a post with the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever.
    How would you advertise it?
Remember, you want people to notice and click your ad AND stay on your post!

     Would you click this ad?
Does this ad tell you what you will find when you click it?

The title is not written in title case.

The image doesn't tell you what the ad is about.

The text of an ad is always written in proper sentence form. This ad text isn't even a sentence.

The search terms do not relate to a post about a chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Will you find a cookie or a beauty queen when you click this ad?

This is an ad for the same post.
Your reader can see the title, written in title case, tells you it's a cookie recipe and it promises to be delicious.

There is an image of a cookie that looks delicious and the text of the ad, written in sentence form, says this delicious cookie recipe can be made fast and easy.

Your potential reader clicks and stays on your post because they know what they are getting.

Provide Listings

Provide Listing Moderations

You will not only be moderating ads on FanBox but also Provide Listings.

Most items you find will be allowed on FanBox and you will be given access to a Provide Listing Standards that outlines what cannot be listed as a product or service on FanBox. The procedure is very similar to ad moderation.

In your Ad Moderation queue, you will find Provide Listings that need to be moderated for your clients. This is an example of a Provide Listing.
Just look it over and see if is a product that is allowed to be sold (it is).
The image should relate to the listing (it does).
The title should be written in title case just like any other ad on FanBox (the way to correct that is shown below).
And the description and seller notes should define what someone is buying if they purchase this item.

If you need to edit a Provide Listing for  client, the area to do so is at the bottom of the page.

If you do reject a Provide Listing, always either choose the correct reason in your rejection from the drop down list or write your client a friendly note and let them know why. Unlike regular ads, Provide Listings can be changed and resubmitted when they have been previously rejected.
